The Revived

Background:
Russia’s unjust invasion of Ukraine has taken lives of over 500 athletes and left Ukraine with the smallest Olympic team in its history. However, in 2024, as conflicts rage across the globe, the atrocities of Russia’s war have become part of the background noise, numbing the world to the ongoing human suffering.

Idea:
To break through the world’s numbness and indifference, we leveraged the 2024 Olympic Games – a global stage where the world unites to celebrate athletic excellence and human potential.

Solution:
At the 2024 Olympics, Ukraine introduced ‘The Revived’ – a digital Olympic team composed of athletes who fell victim to the war. Using generative AI, our „influencers“ were six digitally „revived“ Ukrainian athletes. With the permission of their parents, they were able to symbolically participate at the Olympic Games and in doing so disrupted the normal Olympic media press with much needed media attention for this ongoing devastating war.

‘The Revived’ team was presented in a 100% AI-made heart-shattering film, focused on its main hero — Maksym Halinichev, a prominent 22 y.o. Ukrainian boxer who was killed defending his country on the battlefield. The film follows Maksym’s moving life journey, demonstrating his dedication and passion for boxing, only to break the viewers’ hearts by revealing he is no longer alive.
